Monday 9/22 - Monday Quarterback Club Honors Bruce Smith

The Monday Quarterback Club  honors former all-pro defensive end Bruce Smith, as this year’s inductee onto the Wall of Fame at Ralph Wilson Stadium. The luncheon, sponsored by McDonalds, will be held on Monday, September 22, the day following the Bills home game against the Oakland Raiders.

It will be held at the Harbour Club at HSBC Arena, with doors open at 11:15 am for a buffet lunch, and the program following at 12:05 pm. John Murphy, Voice of the Bills and Sports Director at WIVB TV, will serve as emcee. Other attendees will be Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. owner of the Bills; Larry Felser, weekly sports columnist with the Buffalo News; Mark Gaughan, News Bills beat writer and member of the NFL Hall of Fame selection committee; and Ruben Brown, former all-pro guard for the Bills and Chicago Bears. The event is open to Monday Quarterback Club members and their guests. The Western New York media is invited. Please Note, no autographs will be given at this luncheon.

The Bills’ first round draft pick in 1985, Bruce Smith (no. 78) was elected to the Pro Bowl eleven times, the most for any Buffalo Bill. He was also named MVP at the Pro Bowl in 1988. Bruce, who spent most of his outstanding career with the Bills before finishing with the Washington Redskins, is also the NFL’s all-time sack leader with 200.
